COLUMBIA SKINCARE - Restorative Hydrating Cream

Use as often as needed in place of your regular moisturizer to bring your skin back to its original health and balance. Best when used after bathing and at bedtime.

It may also be used after receiving a waxing procedure.

Aqua (deionized water) – Purified water.

Isopropyl Palmitate – also known as Palm Oil, this natural occurring fatty acid found in plants and animals. It is added to our formula to help the absorption of the cream into the skin.

Isododecane – this dense hydrocarbon molecule ingredient has low viscosity and it is highly effective in preventing the evaporation of water leaving the skin. This makes it ideally suited to provide safe and effective barrier protection. In addition, Isododecane is non-comedonal.

Glyceryl Monostearate – this is a naturally occurring organic molecule found in the body as a by-product of the breakdown of fats. It is used to help stabilize the formula.

Cetearyl Alcohol – this fatty alcohol is naturally derived from plants. It is used to help the skin feel smooth. It also helps our formula retain its stability.

Olive Squalane – often referred to as “nature’s facelift,” this botanical lipid derived from olives is also found naturally in the skin. However, as one gets older the body produces less and less of it, thus causing the onset of wrinkles and age spots. We use it in our formula to help replenish the natural levels lost through the normal aging process.

Salicylic Acid – sourced naturally from the bark of a willow tree, this organic acid helps to clean out the clogged pores of the skin and helps to neutralize the bad bacteria that prevents the skin from “breathing” properly.

Glycerin – this organic compound, naturally derived from plants, is 100% natural and it helps to nourish your skin from within. It is used in our formula to help stimulate the body’s natural hydration process.

Stearic Acid – This is a very common amino acid. It is extracted from cocoa butter and shea butter. We use it here to help us maintain the proper viscosity of our cream.

Diheptyl Succicnate Capryloyl Glycerin Sebaic Acid Copolymer - In addition to being 100% natural and sustainable, the emollients are readily biodegradable, non-GMO and eco-certified. We use it in this formulation because potentiates better with the other ingredients.

Stearyl Alcohol – this organic fatty alcohol is derived from coconut and palm oil. It is used to help keep the skin moisturized.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice – derived from the succulent leaves of the aloe plant, our aloe contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5,B6, B12, C, E, Choline and Folic acid. These vitamins are great for protecting the skin from free radicals. In addition, our aloe contains the active amino acids that are the source of every living thing. These organic molecules rejuvenate aged tissues and promote healthy skin.

Soothing Botanical Complex – Althaea Officinalis Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Cucumis Sativas (Cucumber) Fruit extract, Sambucas Nigra Flower Extract, Hedera Helis (Ivy) Extract, Parietaria Oficinalis (Pellitory) Extract – this natural vegetable complex helps to calm the skin.

Ascorbyl Palmitate - this blend of vitamins A, C & D helps the body to produce natural collagen and also helps to prevent cellular aging. It’s an effective collagen builder and free-radical scavenging ingredient essential to healthy skin. With the advantage of being lipid (fat) soluble, it can penetrate the skin and deliver antioxidants faster than the water soluble forms of Vitamin C. This, in turn, helps prevent cellular aging by inhibiting the cross-linking of collagen, oxidation of proteins, and lipid peroxidation. Furthermore, it’s been shown to work synergistically with the antioxidant Vitamin E. Studies have also show it to be more stable than L-ascorbic acid.

Tocopherol – This fat soluble Vitamin E contains strong antioxidant properties and it is essential to the proper functioning of the human body. Studies have shown that regular use of this ingredient can reduce levels of lipid peroxide in the body, thus slowing down the aging process.

Phenyl Trimethicone – this ingredient provides excellent barrier protection to the skin, and slows the loss of moisture on the skin’s surface.

Phospholipids – Phospholipids play multiple roles in cells in forming the permeability barrier of the cell membrane and intracellular organdies, in providing the supporting matrix and surface for many catalytic processes, in actively participating in signal transduction in response to both external and internal stimuli, and in providing precursors for signaling processes and macro molecular synthesis. We include these natural oils to increase the natural cellular hydration process.

Caprylhydroxamic Acid –this natural, organic amino acid is also derived from coconut oil. It is included in this formulation because its antifungal properties are an exact match for potentiation with our other ingredients.

Phenethyl Alcohol – this natural preservative is derived from rose, carnation, hyacinth, orange blossom, ylang-ylang, geranium, champaca, Aleppo pine, and neroil. It also has natural antimicrobial properties.

Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylates Crosspolymer – this natural polymer is blended into our formula to help increase the skin’s moisture retention and soften the skin. It also acts to maintain the proper viscosity of the formulation.
